Memory Lab
Something happened. Can you rebuild it?
Memory Lab is a short learning game about recount writing. A recount tells what happened, in the order it happened, so someone who wasn't there can follow it.
How it plays
- Watch a silent story about Pip, a frog in a yellow raincoat, and a paper boat in the monsoon.
- The memory scrambles. Put the moments back in order. A wrong guess replays the moment. There is no red X.
- Match the time words: First, Next, Then, Finally.
- Say the story out loud. Then write it one sentence at a time. Choose the word that helps the reader see the moment. Add how Pip felt.
- Watch the memory come back clear.
- Choose a memory of your own and use the same four steps.
Controls
- Click, or press the right arrow, to move on.
- Left arrow goes back. P pauses. H hides the controls. ? shows the keys.
- Sound is made in your browser. M mutes it.
- Works offline once it has loaded. No account, no ads, no tracking.
Built for
Early writers (about ages 6 to 8). Also teachers and designers who want to see how a learning game can work.
